I am in love with Kate Nash's album "Made of Bricks." Her lyrics are more substantive than Lily Allen's and she doesn't have an obvious drug problem (yet). Her songs are random and whimsical. I love the 50s collared dresses she wears.
I could never pull off a vintage style. Whenever I go thrift-store shopping, Inever find a vintage dress in my size. I guess women weren't this flabby 50 years ago. What? They didn't have Bagel Bites in 1958? The Cold War wouldn't have lasted as long if the Russians knew they could have pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at suppertime.

If it's any consolation, vintage clothes never fit me right either and I'm little. Women back then must have had broad shoulders, short torsos and really big boobs. Or at least the ones who wore cool dresses at least.
I think, more than body shape, the restricting "underwear" they wore helped to form The Look.
I found a vintage looking dress at target last year that I LOVE. I only wore it once before I gained a pound (okay, like 15) and it didnt' fit anymore. But I'm gonna rock that bitch here in a few months.
I'm not sure I've heard her music. The only station we have that plays indie/alt music now is WAY indie. I hardly ever recognize the names. I'll listen for her though.

Apparently all the "normal" shaped women wore their clothing out...or ditched the too small things at the first sign that someone was going to make flattering clothing for real sized women (this is my theory...by I could ask my GG...she's 94 and would totally have the answer)
i've been listening to alot of kate nash lately.. at first i wasn't too sure i liked her cd but now i can't seem to find the eject button.
she is cute as hell, I do love a brit.
